Careers Education
Careers Education is provided to all students as an important part of the student guidance programme from Year 9 onwards. The Library Resource Centre has a section devoted to Careers and within this area there are interview facilities. These facilities enable students to discuss their career ambitions with specialist staff. Close links are maintained with Careers Advisory Service and all students in the Upper School are interviewed by a qualified Careers Officer.
The Careers Department at Ysgol y Grango arranges visits for students to Careers Conventions. Industrial visits, and Work Experience (usually 2 weeks in Year 10 or 11) all feature as part of the Careers Advice Programme followed by all students. A two day conference is also attended by students. This event is called The Challenge of Industry Conference.
