Pastoral Care
There are up to four tutor groups per year of intake. The tutor has an important role to play within the pastoral system as he/she develops a close relationship with the students in the tutor group and meets the group as a whole at least twice a day. The school believes that a caring environment based on self discipline and a sense of community is conducive to helping students achieve. Students follow a Pastoral Curriculum to reinforce the school values that are detailed in the Handbook to Parents. Sometimes sanctions have to be used and these may well be extra work, daily report and/or detention. The House System is also used for engendering a spirit of competition. This is particularly so for the School Eisteddfod and Sports Day.
