The School Day
Ysgol y Grango operates a one week timetable cycle.
A typical school day would be as follows:
08.50 - 08.55 Morning Registration
08.55 - 09.45 Lesson One
09.45 - 10.35 Lesson Two
10.35 - 10.50 Morning Break
10.50 - 11.40 Lesson Three
11.40 - 12.30 Lesson Four
12.30 - 13.20 Lunch Break
13.20 - 13.40 Afternoon Registration & Assemblies
13.40 - 14.30 Lesson Five
14.30 - 15.20 Lesson Six
During the first five minutes of the school day students will either be with their tutor in their tutor base to register. The school holds regular assemblies for year groups, houses or for the whole school during afternoon registration, which is twenty minutes. Some afternoon registration periods are spent with their tutors.
Before school and during Morning Break the school cafeteria is open for hot snacks. During the lunch break the cafeteria offers a wide range of hot and cold food. There is also a snack bar where sandwiches and drinks can be purchased or where students can eat food brought from home.
Students who do not wish to stay in school during the lunch hour may obtain a pass which allows them to leave the premises to go home for lunch. We believe that students should be supervised during this period of time and, consequently, we will only issue such a pass to students following receipt of a letter from parents.
It should be stressed that lunch time passes are to enable students to go home and not simply to leave the school premises
